Ad accounts on Meta

Understanding how the elements of your Meta account setup connect is crucial for minimizing risks and keeping operations running smoothly. Here’s how each part is connected and what happens if one of them fails.

What’s connected to what on Meta

  1. Profile: Your profile is the entry point. It’s linked to the Business Manager (BM) and ad accounts. All your history and reputation are here.
  1. Business Manager (BM): Manages ad accounts, pages, and pixels. If the BM gets suspended, all associated accounts and pages become inaccessible.
  1. Ad Account: Each account is connected to one or more pixels. If an account is deactivated, the ads it was managing stop immediately.
  1. Page: Each page can have multiple ad accounts. If a page gets banned, you lose all related traffic.
  1. Pixel: The pixel collects conversion data and is linked to the ad account. If the pixel is deleted, you can no longer track events.
  1. Domain: The domain is associated with pages and ads. If a domain gets flagged, it can affect all linked accounts.
  1. Card: The card is the payment source. If the payment method fails, it can result in the ad account getting suspended.

When to rebuild from scratch

  1. If your account gets suspended and you can’t resolve it within 30 days.
  2. If the BM gets banned and recovery attempts fail.
  3. If your profile’s reputation is severely compromised.

Rebuilding from scratch can be more cost-effective and safer in the long run, especially if you have a history of issues.
