Google Shopping + Merchant Center for COD/dropshipping: a feed that gets approved and how to get out of a 'misrepresentation' suspension
Guilherme Rocha · 2026-10-07
Shopping converts 2–3× better than Search for physical products, but 60% of new accounts get suspended in the first week. The reason is almost always the same: Merchant Center doesn't trust the site.
SITE CHECKLIST (before creating the Merchant Center account)
- Required pages in the footer, with real content: Refund Policy (timeframes, how to request a refund), Shipping Policy (timeframes by country, cost), Terms, Privacy, Contact (email + phone + physical address — a virtual office is fine, but it has to exist).
- Secure checkout (HTTPS on EVERYTHING), prices in the country's currency, clear taxes.
- Product with a real description (300+ words), 3+ photos, correct variants.
- No fake countdown timers, no “only 3 left” if it isn't true, no fake reviews. That's exactly what misrepresentation is.
- Domain that's 30+ days old, WHOIS details consistent with the address.
Feed
- Title: Brand + Product + Main Attribute + Size/Quantity (e.g., “Erlona Draining Liquid 500ml – Fluid Retention”). 150 chars, keywords first.
- GTIN if one exists; if not, identifier_exists = false (don't make one up).
- White background for the main image, no text, no badges.
- Feed price = page price down to the cent. Any mismatch = disapproval.
- Availability synced (product out of stock in the feed as “in stock” = suspension).
If suspended for misrepresentation
- Don't request a review the same day. Fix EVERYTHING on the list above first.
- Add: an “About Us” page with a real story, photos of the team/warehouse, visible CNPJ/VAT.
- Verify and claim the domain; connect Google Business Profile if you have an address.
- Request a review ONCE everything is ready. Second rejection = 7-day wait; third = basically permanent on that domain.
Campaign
- Standard Shopping (not PMax) at the start: you can see search terms.
- Low priority with a high bid for brand/product terms; high priority with a low bid and negatives for generic terms (2-campaign structure).
- Manual CPC at 0,30–0,60 € for the first 2 weeks, then target ROAS once you pass 30 conversions.
Cod-specific
- Shopping accepts cash on delivery, but the page needs to make it clear at checkout and in the shipping policy. Write “Pay on delivery” in the description, not the title.
