TikTok Ads: scale in 3 weeks and how to avoid leaving balance stuck in a banned account
Diego Gomes · 2026-10-07
TikTok gives you low CPMs and fast bans. Treat your balance like inventory, not a deposit.
Structure
- Agency account (top up through the agency, no limit, balance transferable between accounts) > personal account (card, spending limit, balance stuck when the account gets banned).
- Campaign: 1 broad ad set per country, 3–5 native creatives (shot vertically, look like content, not ads). Optimize for “Complete payment” from the start if you have a pixel with events; otherwise, use “Add to cart” for 3 days and then switch.
- Spark Ads (boosting a post from a profile) have 20–30% lower CPMs and preserve social proof (comments stay). Create a brand profile with 5–10 videos first.
Scaling
- Week 1: €50/day, 5 creatives, make a decision in 72h. • Week 2: move winners into CBO at €150/day. • Week 3: duplicate by country and by account.
- Creatives die in 7–10 days on TikTok (faster than Meta). Weekly production of 5–10 new ones is mandatory.
- Bid: “Lowest cost” until 50 conversions; then “Cost Cap” = CPA × 1.2.
Stuck balance
- Never leave more than 2–3 days’ worth of spend in the account. Top up small amounts frequently.
- Agency account: the balance goes back to the agency when the account gets banned; personal account: open a ticket, 15–45 days, partial refund. That’s why you pay an agency fee.
- Before scaling, withdraw/transfer the excess.
Policy
TikTok rejects health claims more often than Meta: “lose weight,” “cure,” “eliminate” = rejected. Use “helps,” “supports,” “feeling of.” Body before-and-after content is prohibited — use “routine” and show the product in use.
Creative that works in 2026
Spoken hook in 1 s (“I couldn’t believe that…”), on-screen text, 3 cuts in the first 5 s, product appears by second 4, CTA in the last 3 s and in the caption. 15–30 s. Trending music from TikTok itself (commercial library).
