TikTok Ad Library by country: USA, UK, Australia and how to see ads anywhere

Short answer: the TikTok Ad Library exists. It's called the Commercial Content Library and lives at library.tiktok.com. Anyone can open it, with no account, from any country, but it only stores ads that ran in the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and Turkey. An ad that ran only in the US, Canada or Australia won't be there. For those markets, your options are TikTok Creative Center's Top Ads, searching inside the app, and tools that read ads every day, like FreeSpy.

If you're used to the Meta Ad Library, this is confusing. On Meta you pick "United States", type a keyword and see everything that's active. On TikTok you open the country dropdown and the US isn't there. It's not a bug and your account isn't blocked. That's how the library was built.

This guide covers why, what each route actually shows, the answer for each country people search for, and how to read a TikTok ad once you've found it.

Is there a TikTok Ad Library?

Yes. The official name is the Commercial Content Library. People search for "TikTok ad library", "TikTok ads library" or "TikTok ad library search", and they all end up at library.tiktok.com.

It exists because the law requires it. The EU's Digital Services Act (DSA) makes large platforms keep a public repository of the ads they show to European users. That's why coverage is geographic: the library was built to meet a European rule, not to be a market research tool.

From the library's official FAQ, checked in October 2026:

  • It includes any ad with at least one impression published on or after October 1, 2022.
  • Ads stay archived for one year after they were last shown to a user.
  • Changes usually show up in the library within 24 hours of a campaign starting.
  • You don't need a TikTok account to access, search or use it.
  • All dates and timestamps are in UTC, so an ad may look like it started "a day early" from where you are.
  • TikTok says it doesn't run political ads, so you won't find any there.

Which countries the TikTok Ad Library covers

We opened the target country filter in October 2026. The list has the 27 EU member states, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway (which complete the European Economic Area), the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Turkey. There's also an "All countries" option, which covers only those.

The level of detail depends on the region. The FAQ splits it like this:

  • European Economic Area: the ad creative, basic information (when it started running, who the advertiser is) and an extra layer of transparency with targeting parameters and reach by country. Since June 2026, TikTok also shows unique reach broken down by age and gender; ads shown before that only have the country breakdown.
  • UK, Switzerland and Turkey: the creative and basic information, without the extra EEA layer.

The US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Mexico and the rest of Latin America are not on the list. If an advertiser ran the same campaign in the US and in the UK, you'll see the ad through the UK. If it ran only in the US, the library doesn't have it.

How to search the TikTok Ad Library, step by step

Even though it's European, it's useful wherever you are. Many offers that scale in Europe show up in other markets later, and if you sell cash on delivery (COD) in Europe, this library is your daily tool. Step by step:

  1. Go to library.tiktok.com/ads. You can switch the language to English (US or UK) in the footer.
  2. Under Ad target country, pick one or more countries. It's required; the search won't run without it.
  3. Under Ad last shown date, set the range. This filter looks at the last time the ad was shown, not the date it started. To see what's running now, use the last 7 or 30 days.
  4. Under Keywords or advertiser name, type the product, niche or brand. Without quotes, the search is "fuzzy": it ranks ads with your full phrase first, then ads with some of the words, and returns up to 5,000 results. It matches whole words only ("care" won't match "career").
  5. Click Search and use Filters to narrow down. The default sort is by last shown date, newest first.
  6. Open a card to see the details: the video, the advertiser, who paid and, for EEA ads, targeting and reach.
A search for France over the last 30 days (interface in Portuguese): each card shows the advertiser, the first and last time the ad was shown, and the range of unique users who saw it
A search for France over the last 30 days (interface in Portuguese): each card shows the advertiser, the first and last time the ad was shown, and the range of unique users who saw it

Look at the three fields on each card. First shown and last shown give you how long the ad has run. Unique users seen is a range (0 to 1K, 10K to 100K and so on), not an exact number. It helps you tell a small test from an ad that's already getting budget.

Two practical warnings. First, the FAQ says TikTok may block an IP for 24 hours if it sees too many searches too fast. Pace yourself. Second, there's no export button. If you need volume, there's the Commercial Content API, which requires registration and project approval by TikTok.

TikTok Creative Center: the route for the US, Canada and Australia

For ads outside Europe, the official source is Top Ads in TikTok Creative Center. It's a different tool with a different logic: not an archive of every ad, but a showcase of high-performing auction ads.

What we found there in October 2026:

  • Regions: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Romania, Turkey, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, plus several more across Asia and the Middle East. New Zealand and Ireland weren't on the list.
  • Period: last 7, 30 or 180 days.
  • Filters: campaign objective (traffic, conversions, product sales, reach…), ad language, format (Spark Ads or not), likes range.
  • Metrics: likes, CTR band ("Top 52%"), budget (low, medium, high), 2-second and 6-second view rates, and conversion rate.
  • Login: without logging in you see a sample; the page says you need to log in to access all Top Ads. It's a free TikTok for Business account.

The most important caveat is in the page footer: the ads shown are limited to those advertisers have authorized, and may not reflect all top-performing auction ads. In other words, it's a curated sample. Great for studying formats and hooks; not great for mapping a specific competitor, who most likely hasn't opted in.

Other routes: the app and third-party tools

Searching inside TikTok. In the app, ads show up in the feed with a Sponsored label. There's no "ads only" filter, but you can search for the product or brand, open the advertiser's profile and look at the organic posts that often become ads (Spark Ads boost an existing post). It's slow and depends on the algorithm, but it shows what's running for someone like you, in your country.

Third-party tools. There are paid tools built around TikTok, like PiPiADS, with deeper TikTok coverage than ours. If TikTok is your main channel and you need coverage outside Europe, they're worth a look. FreeSpy is our product, and we cover what it does and doesn't do below.

TikTok Ad Library by country

Google's autocomplete is full of "tiktok ad library + country". Here's the short answer for each.

TikTok Ad Library USA

There's no official library with US-only ads. Use Creative Center with the United States region and log in to see more than the sample. For competitors who also advertise on Meta, the Meta Ad Library covers the US fully, and that's where you see how long an ad has been running and how many versions of a creative are live. One more trick: many US brands also advertise in the UK, so searching their name with the UK as target country often surfaces the same creatives.

TikTok Ad Library UK

The UK is in the library, with the creative and basic information (when it started, who's advertising) but without the extra EEA layer of targeting detail. It's also in Creative Center. For UK sellers this is the best-served market outside the EU.

TikTok Ad Library Australia

Not in the library, but Australia is in Creative Center. Many Australian DTC brands also test in the UK; try the UK target country with the brand name.

Canada

Not in the library, available in Creative Center. Same UK trick for brands that sell in both.

New Zealand and Ireland

New Zealand is in neither the library nor Creative Center, from what we checked. Ireland is in the library (it's in the EU) with the full EEA detail, even though it wasn't in Creative Center's region list.

Europe (Germany, France, Spain, Italy…)

This is where the library shines. Every EU country is there, with targeting, reach by country and, since June 2026, reach by age and gender. If you run COD in Europe, also read how to read COD ads in Europe.

How to read a TikTok ad once you find it

Finding ads is the easy part. The real work is deciding whether an ad is selling or is just another test. The signals are the same as on Meta, with two tweaks.

1. Days live. In the library, subtract first shown from last shown. If last shown is yesterday, the ad is still live. An ad that has run 40 days straight has survived several review cycles by whoever pays for it; one that has run 3 days tells you nothing yet. Same reasoning as in our piece on days live. Keep in mind the library uses UTC and "first shown" is per ad, not per creative: if the advertiser re-uploads the same video, the count restarts.

2. Repetition. Search by advertiser name and count how many times the same video appears under different ad IDs. On TikTok it's common to run the same creative in several ad groups with different audiences or countries. Duplicating takes work and budget, so it's a sign of a bet. On Meta we call these copies, and the logic holds here.

3. Reach. The unique users range helps separate tests from scale. A new ad at 0 to 1K is a test. One at 100K+ with several copies is getting real budget. Don't read it as sales: it's people who saw the ad, not people who bought.

4. The hook in the first 3 seconds. On TikTok almost everything is decided before the thumb moves on. Watch only the opening, muted, and note: what's in the first frame, whether there's on-screen text, whether the person looks at the camera, whether the product shows up in second 1 or only at the end. Creative Center shows 2-second and 6-second view rates for some ads; use them to see how a strong hook turns into retention.

5. Angle and structure. Put the ad into one of the six angles (social proof, personal story, discount, authority, fear, curiosity) and sketch the structure: hook, problem, demo, offer, call to action. That's what you take into your own test.

Copy the angle, remake the piece. Re-uploading someone else's video burns your account and teaches you nothing. See copy the structure, not the creative.

If it's a health or supplement ad, be extra careful: describe the angle to your team and don't reuse the claim. TikTok's rules for these ads are strict and the original copy may not get approved on your account.

Common mistakes when researching TikTok ads

  • Reading "no results" as "not advertising". If you searched for a US brand in the library and got nothing, it may be spending heavily, just in the US. An empty result there proves nothing outside Europe.
  • Treating Creative Center as a full library. Top Ads is curated. A competitor who didn't opt in won't show up, no matter how much they spend.
  • Reading "last shown" as "start date". The library's date filter looks at last shown. An ad that appears under "last 7 days" may have started months ago. That's good: it's exactly what you want to find.
  • Ignoring the time zone. Dates are in UTC. From New York, an ad that "started on the 10th" may have started on the evening of the 9th. It barely changes days live, but it confuses anyone comparing screenshots.
  • Searching in bursts. Too many searches in a row can get your IP blocked for 24 hours. Prepare your keyword list first and go steady.
  • Looking only at likes. Likes on ads are cheap and vary a lot by niche. Duration and repetition tell you more.

Where FreeSpy saves you time

FreeSpy is our product, so here's a straight answer on what it does with TikTok and what it doesn't.

What it does. Every day FreeSpy reads public ads from Meta, TikTok and YouTube, groups copies of the same creative and calculates how many days each one has been live. Instead of subtracting dates card by card, you get the read ready: days live, copies and a 0 to 100 score per advertiser. In Top Scaled you can filter to TikTok only and see who repeats creatives the most, by market and niche, with options like "only live" and "no big brands".

FreeSpy's Top Scaled page with the network filter (interface in Portuguese): pick TikTok to see the ranking of advertisers, products and creatives for that platform only
FreeSpy's Top Scaled page with the network filter (interface in Portuguese): pick TikTok to see the ranking of advertisers, products and creatives for that platform only

What it doesn't. TikTok coverage is smaller than Meta's, which is our deepest source. Since we read TikTok's public source, its geographic scope shapes what shows up. For TikTok in the US or Australia, Creative Center is still the official complement. We also don't show spend, sales or campaign results: our metrics are estimates from public data, not a guarantee of sales.

The workflow that usually pays off: find the offer in FreeSpy (Meta and TikTok together), check in Creative Center how the hook performs on TikTok, and save what passes. In Explore you can filter by network, country, format and days live.

The account is free forever and doesn't ask for a card. You can browse without one; create yours to save collections and follow advertisers in the Store Monitor.

Quick checklist

  1. Is your target country in the library? (Europe, UK, Switzerland, Turkey: yes. Everywhere else: no.)
  2. If not, does Creative Center have the region? Log in to see more than the sample.
  3. For each ad: recent last shown date? More than 30 days between first and last shown?
  4. Does the same video appear several times for the same advertiser?
  5. Is the reach range consistent with scale (not just 0 to 1K)?
  6. First 3 seconds: did you note the hook, the on-screen text and when the product appears?
  7. Angle and structure written down, ready to become your script?

Frequently asked questions

Is there a TikTok Ad Library for the USA?

Not with US ads. The Commercial Content Library opens from the US, but it only shows ads served in Europe, the UK, Switzerland and Turkey. For US ads, use Top Ads in TikTok Creative Center.

What is the TikTok Ad Library called?

The Commercial Content Library, at library.tiktok.com.

Does the TikTok Ad Library cover the UK and Australia?

The UK, yes, with basic information. Australia, no; use Creative Center, which has an Australia region.

Do I need an account to use the TikTok Ad Library?

No. The official FAQ says you don't need a TikTok account. Creative Center does ask you to log in to see all Top Ads.

Can I see how long a TikTok ad has been running?

In the library, yes: each ad shows the first and last time it was shown. The gap between them is how long it ran.

Does the TikTok Ad Library show ad spend?

No. It shows the creative, the advertiser, who paid, the dates, a reach range and, for EEA ads, targeting. Spend and clicks aren't shown.

The TikTok Ad Library is excellent for Europe and changes how you research COD there. For everywhere else, combine Creative Center, the Meta Ad Library and a daily read of who's repeating creatives. The creatives that scale, before everyone else: start with Top Scaled.
