Short answer: AdSpy has one plan, at $149 a month, with no free version and no advertised trial. If you use it to find active ads on Facebook and Instagram, the Meta Ad Library and FreeSpy's Free plan cover that at no cost. If your work depends on searching inside ad comments, filtering by affiliate network or looking up an offer ID, AdSpy does things no free alternative does.

The information below comes from each tool's official pages, checked in October 2026 and re-checked on 1 November 2026. FreeSpy is our product, so we also show where AdSpy comes out ahead.

How much does AdSpy cost today?

AdSpy has no separate pricing page: the number sits on the home page, in the "simple and Fair Pricing" block. Checked on 1 November 2026, it shows:

  • Single plan: $149 a month for what they call "virtually unlimited usage", covering Facebook and Instagram ads.
  • No free plan and no advertised trial. Every button leads to the subscription form.
  • Annual price: not stated on the page.

The home page calls itself "the largest searchable database of Facebook and Instagram ads in the world" and advertises 212.8 million ads, 30.3 million advertisers, 225 countries and 88 languages. That same page warns the price is an introductory offer and "will not be the same for long".

Read the policy before you subscribe: AdSpy's info page says a full refund applies within 24 hours of purchase, and anything beyond that is at their discretion.

Why look for an AdSpy alternative?

  1. There's no entry step. Either you pay $149 or you don't use it. For anyone who hasn't validated a product yet, that's the heaviest bill among the well-known ad spy tools.
  2. No free tier and no trial. You subscribe to find out whether it fits. Those 24 refund hours are your only evaluation window.
  3. Two networks only. Facebook and Instagram. If your traffic comes from TikTok or YouTube, the coverage isn't there.
  4. No AI. We found no MCP, no API and no AI feature on the site. If you already work inside Claude or ChatGPT, you'll keep copying and pasting.
  5. English-only site. There's no Portuguese or Spanish version.

None of that makes AdSpy a bad tool. It makes it a tool for affiliates with a budget, which is exactly the audience they say they serve: "as affiliates ourselves, we've built the tool that we want to use".

AdSpy alternatives, one by one

The Meta Ad Library

Free and official. According to the Meta Help Center, the Library holds the active ads running across Meta technologies and anyone can search it, with no ad account and nothing to pay. It's the source for almost every tool that looks at Meta, FreeSpy included.

What you don't get there: the history of commercial ads that stopped running outside the European Union, advertiser spend, and any reading done for you. The step by step is in how to use the Meta Ad Library.

FreeSpy

FreeSpy mines the Meta Ad Library every day in European countries, Brazil and Latin America, also reads the TikTok and Google (YouTube) ad libraries, and groups ads by product, store and advertiser. Instead of handing back a list, it hands back the reading: days live, copies of the same creative, the 0–100 index and each advertiser's profile (winner, tester or evergreen).

On the Free plan you get Top scaled, the categories and Explore with a COD filter, plus 3 saved collections, a monitor for up to 5 advertisers, and MCP access with 100 calls and up to 1,000 ads a day. The account is free forever and asks for no card. Pro costs $39 a month or $390 a year and unlocks an unlimited monitor with new-creative alerts, unlimited collections, bulk creative downloads, CSV export, MCP with no call limit (up to 5,000 ads a day) and the full history of every ad. It's all on pricing, with a full refund within 7 days of the first charge.

That's about a quarter of AdSpy's price, with a free tier that doesn't expire.

BigSpy

For anyone who needs several networks in one subscription. According to its pricing page, checked on 1 November 2026, Starter costs $69 a month (Facebook and Instagram) and Growth, at $159, adds TikTok, YouTube, Google Ads and others. There's also a Free plan at $0, with Facebook creatives only, 10 searches a day and no creative downloads. Comparison in BigSpy alternative.

Minea

For anyone who wants product research with AI. According to its pricing page, checked on 1 November 2026, Starter costs $49 a month and includes Meta ads and influencer placements. Comparison in Minea alternative.

PiPiADS

If your traffic is TikTok, AdSpy isn't even in the race. PiPiADS's official site presents it as a TikTok and Facebook tool, with Basic at $49 a month and a free trial with 500 credits, according to the plans section checked in October 2026.

PPSPY

For anyone who wants to know how much a Shopify store sells, rather than which creative is running. According to its pricing page, checked in October 2026, Standard costs $39 a month with 30 trackers.

AdSpy or FreeSpy: what does each do better?

AdSpy is better at:

  • searching inside ad comments, a social-proof signal nobody else exploits;
  • affiliate filters: network, affiliate ID, offer ID and landing page technology;
  • estimated demographics per ad (location, age, gender);
  • a large historical database of Facebook and Instagram ads, sortable by longest running.

FreeSpy is better at:

  • cost: free to start, no card, and Pro at roughly a quarter of AdSpy's entry price;
  • scale read out for you: days live, copies and the 0–100 index already calculated, instead of ten filters built by hand;
  • more networks: Meta, TikTok and YouTube — with the honest caveat that Meta is our deepest database, and TikTok and YouTube have thinner coverage;
  • AI: FreeSpy's MCP has 22 tools and works on the Free plan, so you can ask Claude or ChatGPT what's scaling. See the connectors and skills catalog;
  • COD and language: a COD filter in Explore, a focus on Europe, Brazil and Latin America, and a site in Portuguese, English and Spanish;
  • refund window: 7 days against 24 hours.

One warning that applies to both: every ad spy metric is an estimate built from public data. Time on air and repeated creatives tell you where someone is betting, not what they profit. How much an advertiser spends and what their margin is show up nowhere.

How to choose

  • You're an affiliate and need network, offer ID and comments: AdSpy is the tool on this list built for that. No free alternative covers those filters.
  • You advertise on Meta and want to find what's scaling: the Meta Ad Library plus FreeSpy Free do the job. Move up to Pro when a 5-advertiser monitor gets tight.
  • Your traffic is TikTok: PiPiADS or BigSpy Growth.
  • You want to compare everything first: the best ad spy tools in 2026 comparison puts the main ones side by side, with prices and the date we checked them.

An honest test before you subscribe to anything: pick a niche, look for ads running for more than 30 days with the same creative repeated, and see how long it takes to build a list of five candidates. The tool that does that fastest in your niche is yours. In FreeSpy that path starts in Explore, filtering by niche, country and days live — and you can do it right now, for free, in our free ad spy tool.
