VSLs that turn cold traffic into buyers in 2026: 12-block structure, length by niche, and what’s changed with 45+ audiences on mobile

Matheus Figueiredo · 2026-10-07

VSLs aren’t dead—they’ve changed. Today: mobile, captions, no sound at first, and viewers decide in 20 seconds.

12-BLOCK STRUCTURE (nutra/supplements, 8–14 min)

  1. Hook (0–20 s): pattern interrupt + implied promise. “If you’re over 45 and feel X, watch until the end—I’ll show you what nobody’s told you.”
  2. Quick authority proof (20–40 s): who’s speaking and why.
  3. The pain, amplified (1 min): consequences the viewer hasn’t connected to the pain.
  4. The enemy (1 min): why what they’ve tried hasn’t worked (industry, surface-level solutions).
  5. The discovery (1–2 min): the story of how the mechanism was found.
  6. The unique mechanism (1–2 min): simple explanation, visual analogy.
  7. Scientific proof (1 min): cite studies without naming a disease.
  8. The solution/product (1 min): what it is, how to use it.
  9. Testimonials (1–2 min): 3, with names and cities, believable results.
  10. Offer + price anchor (1 min): reference price, bundles, bonuses.
  11. Guarantee + risk reversal (30 s).
  12. CTA + honest scarcity + recap (1 min). Repeat the CTA 3× at the end.

Length by niche

Nutra/health 45+: 8–14 min. Electronics/home: 2–4 min (demo). Info products: 15–30 min. Low-ticket COD: 3–5 min with the button visible from the start.

What’s changed

Low-cost production

Script (you) → voice (ElevenLabs or a native speaker, 80–150 €) → b-roll (stock footage + product filmed on a phone) → editing with captions (CapCut/Descript). 300–600 € per complete VSL. Test 2 different hooks with the same body.

On-page metrics

Play rate > 60% (muted autoplay with a big sound button) · retention by block (Vturb/Wistia) · CTA clicks / plays > 8% · checkout conversion > 25% of clicks.

Real structure examples: filter for videos that have been live for 90+ days on FreeSpy and open the script read by Muse (🧠)—you’ll see the 12 blocks compressed into 60–90 s.
